Jamie Vardy has signed off from a stunning career with Leicester.
In Jamie Vardy’s 500th, and final, appearance for Leicester, it was written in the stars he’d sign off his time with the Foxes with his 200th goal for the Midlands side.
That the goal came exactly 13 years after his move to Leicester from Fleetwood was confirmed; this was a script only the finest writers in Hollywood could pen.
Vardy has enjoyed a wonderful time at the King Power Stadium, playing key roles as Leicester won the Premier League and FA Cup during his time with the Foxes.
He leaves a club, and Premier League, legend. He won’t play a part in Sunday’s trip to Bournemouth, meaning attention now turns to his next destination.
While the 38-year-old has previously admitted he could still ply his trade in England’s top tier, the likelihood that he’ll turn out for a Premier League side next season is low, meaning a move abroad is looking increasingly likely.

The latest odds suggest Vardy could indeed go to Hollywood. The experienced hitman would relish the space afforded to him in Major League Soccer, and so it’s no surprise that a move to any MLS club is currently the joint-favourite destination for Vardy at 3/1 on BetVictor (shortest odds of 6/4).

It’s not just in MLS where a striker of Vardy’s calibre and skillset would thrive. More and more British players are looking to try their luck in Europe, with the likes of Scott McTominay, Billy Gilmour, Tammy Abraham and Kyle Walker, to name four, all departing England for Italy.
As such, a move to any Serie A club is also available at 3/1. For a player who has previously admitted that his pre-match routine involves a double espresso, then Serie A is certainly a viable destination.
Of course, Vardy will still have interested parties on these shores, with Wrexham notably the most likely British destination for the forward if rumours are to be believed (10/3 on William Hill).
Wrexham were instilled as immediate favourites to be Vardy’s next club once he confirmed he’d be leaving Leicester at the end of the season, though they have since drifted to 10/3 to sign the former England international.

Meanwhile, a return to Sheffield Wednesday, where Vardy started his career, is also a possibility, with the Owls at 5/1 to be his next club. However, it’s more likely that Vardy will chance his luck in either MLS or Serie A at this stage.
Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez may be the poster boys for Major League Soccer, the former Barcelona stars shining for Inter Miami. Vardy, though, would thrive with the slack defending to take the league by storm.
