Brentford are set to enter a new era after long-serving head coach Thomas Frank's move to Tottenham was announced, leaving the club with a major decision to make in the dugout.
Brentford are on the hunt for a new head coach after Thomas Frank was announced as the replacement for Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham.
The Danish manager completed a reported £10m switch across the capital where he will become the fourth permanent manager since June 2021.
Frank, who took over as Brentford boss in October 2018 following Dean Smith’s departure to Aston Villa, has overseen the club’s rise from Championship contenders to established Premier League outfit.
He masterminded their promotion via the 2020–21 play-offs, ending a 74-year absence from top-flight football.
Since then, he’s guided the Bees to finishes of 13th, 9th, and 16th and 10th despite facing injury setbacks.
Now the third-longest-serving manager across England’s top four divisions, behind only Harrogate’s Simon Weaver and Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Frank’s exit leaves a significant void at the helm.
His departure presents a crucial crossroads for Brentford, who must now identify a successor capable of preserving their Premier League status and building on the success of Frank.

Who is favourite to be the next Brentford manager?
Justin Cochrane, previously the 4/6 frontrunner to succeed Thomas Frank as Brentford manager, has opted to join Frank at Tottenham Hotspur as part of his coaching staff.
Keith Andrews has taken over as the frontrunner to become the next Brentford head coach, with odds of 8/15 with bet365.
Since retiring from playing professionally in 2015, Keith Andrews stepped into coaching, building an impressive resume across youth, international, and Premier League football.
He began at MK Dons, working with the youth setup before stepping into international football as assistant manager for the Republic of Ireland under Martin O’Neill and Mick McCarthy from 2017 to 2020. He then joined Sheffield United’s coaching team during their Premier League spell, working as assistant manager under Chris Wilder. In 2022 he joined the Brentford set-up, where he currently works as the set-piece coach.
Francesco Farioli is second favourite after his odds were cut from as long as 25/1 into a shortest price of 6/4 amid reports of his interest in the role.
The 36-year-old Italian impressed during his time at Nice, guiding them to Europa League qualification, and although his stint at Ajax ended in disappointment after squandering a nine-point lead in the Eredivisie title race, his progressive, possession-based style aligns with Brentford’s footballing philosophy.
However, concerns exist about his short tenures at previous clubs (four head coaching roles in four years), raising question marks over whether he is a long-term solution for the Bees.
Kieran McKenna is seen as the third favourite for the Brentford managerial role at a best price of 10/1, with his stock remaining high despite Ipswich Town’s relegation from the Premier League last season.
The 39-year-old has earned widespread praise for his rapid rise through the coaching ranks, having guided Ipswich to back-to-back promotions from League One to the top flight in the 2022–23 and 2023–24 campaigns.
His coaching pedigree includes spells as assistant manager at Manchester United under José Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjær, as well as youth coaching roles at both United and Tottenham.
While Ipswich’s relegation could be seen as a blemish, it is unlikely to outweigh his growing reputation as one of England’s brightest young managers and he could be a good fit if Brentford are looking for a long-term solution.
Interesting options include Ange Postecoglou at 12/1 and Scott Parker at 33/1, with the latter reportedly on Brentford's shortlist.
