West Ham's 2-1 home defeat to Nottingham Forest has left him on the verge, check out the latest odds for his successor here.
West Ham United's torrid run of form continued on Tuesday night with a Morgan Gibbs-White penalty securing a 2-1 victory for Nottingham Forest and handing The Hammers their fifth loss in six games.
That stretches their winless run to 10 games, with Nuno Espirito Santo only picking up two wins since joining the East London club on the 27th September.
When the betting opened Wednesday morning, Nuno was the 1/7 favourite to be the Next Premier League Manager to leave their post with rumours swirling that if West Ham lose away to Spurs on Saturday, he will be sacked.

Michael Carrick
As of Wednesday morning, Michael Carrick is the odds-on favourite to be the next manager at West Ham. In his debut managerial role, Carrick guided Middlesbrough to a Championship play-off finish in 2022-23 but was sacked in June 2025 after the team failed to reach the play-off places for two consecutive seasons. Given the situation West Ham currently find themselves in, it would seem quite the punt to bring in a manager with no Premier League experience to try and keep the club from avoiding relegation.
Slaven Bilić – 11/8
Slaven Bilić is second favourite in the market to make a return to the West Ham dugout. The Croatian previously led the Hammers to a seventh-place Premier League finish in 2015/16 before being sacked in November 2017, and has since had mixed spells at West Brom (promotion to the top flight), Beijing Guoan, Watford and most recently Al-Fateh in Saudi Arabia, where he left by mutual consent in August 2024 after a mid-table finish. Given he’s been out of work since that Al-Fateh job, bringing Bilić back would be a nod to a popular former manager – but also a gamble on someone whose best work at the top level came almost a decade ago.

Rúben Amorim
Rúben Amorim is high in the betting despite only being sacked by Manchester United on Monday after a bruising 14-month spell at Old Trafford. The Portuguese coach arrived in England off the back of major success at Sporting CP, where he won two Primeira Liga titles (2020/21 and 2023/24) and a League Cup, but leaves United with just 24 wins in 63 games, the club’s worst win percentage of the Premier League era, despite reaching the Europa League final last season. From West Ham’s perspective, Amorim ticks the “big name with trophies” box, but his stock has clearly taken a hit and it would be a surprise if his next move was straight into relegation fight.
Enzo Maresca
Enzo Maresca sits at around 8/1 having just left Chelsea on New Year’s Day after 18 months in charge. The Italian guided Leicester City to the Championship title in 2023/24 before taking the Chelsea job, where he went on to win the UEFA Conference League, the FIFA Club World Cup and secure a return to the Champions League, only to be dismissed after a poor run of league results and disagreements with the board. With his reputation still largely positive despite the abrupt ending at Stamford Bridge, Maresca would be a very ambitious appointment for West Ham – and it feels just as likely he waits for another “big six” opportunity rather than diving straight into the London Stadium hot seat.
Frank Lampard
Frank Lampard is the outsider in the betting but brings one of the more rounded CVs, having taken Derby County to a Championship play-off final, secured a top-four finish and FA Cup final with Chelsea, and later kept Everton up in 2021/22 before a tough second season saw him dismissed. Since 2024, he has rebuilt his reputation at Coventry City, leading them to the top of the Championship with a healthy cushion going into 2026 and collecting multiple Manager of the Month awards along the way. Given how close Coventry are to a long-awaited return to the Premier League, it would take a pretty persuasive offer for Lampard to walk away mid-season, which probably explains why the market currently has him down as more of a long shot than a serious frontrunner.
