Premier League Relegation Odds: Who Will Go Down, West Ham or Tottenham?

The Premier League relegation battle will go down to the final day, with Tottenham and West Ham fighting to avoid the final relegation spot.

After nine months of twists, turns and disappointment, the Premier League relegation battle comes down to one final afternoon.

Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United head into the last day of the season separated by just two points, with only one place remaining above the drop zone. One of London's biggest clubs will be playing Championship football next season.

Spurs currently hold the advantage, sitting 17th and knowing that a point against Everton should be enough to secure survival. West Ham, meanwhile, must beat Leeds United and hope results elsewhere fall in their favour.

Who Is Favourite To Be Relegated From The Premier League?

West Ham head into the final day as clear favourites for relegation at 1/6, reflecting the difficult position they find themselves in.

The Hammers start the day two points behind Tottenham and therefore require two things to happen: they must beat Leeds United at the London Stadium and hope Spurs lose at home to Everton. Anything less than a West Ham victory will see them relegated regardless of events in North London.

Tottenham's position is significantly stronger. Roberto De Zerbi's side simply need to avoid defeat against Everton, and even a draw would almost certainly be enough given their vastly superior goal difference.

Despite that advantage, betting interest suggests punters are not fully convinced Spurs will get the job done.

Oddschecker betting data shows Tottenham have attracted 75% of all relegation bets over the last 24 hours.

Tottenham Relegation Odds

Tottenham are available at 11/2 (various bookmakers) to be relegated, implying bookmakers believe survival remains the most likely outcome.

The mathematics are straightforward. Spurs stay up with a win and are overwhelmingly likely to survive with a draw. The only realistic route to relegation is defeat against Everton combined with a West Ham victory over Leeds.

However, there are reasons why bettors remain cautious.

While De Zerbi has improved performances since arriving in North London, Tottenham's home form has been among the worst in the division throughout the campaign. Spurs have collected just 12 points at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season, a total matched only by already-relegated Burnley.

They have also failed to win a home Premier League match since December, turning what was once a major advantage into a source of anxiety heading into the biggest game of their season.

The concern for Spurs supporters is that Everton arrive with nothing to lose. David Moyes' side cannot qualify for Europe but could inadvertently help his former club West Ham by taking points away from Tottenham. Everton have also been strong travellers this season, collecting more than half of their league points away from home.

That said, Spurs still control their own destiny. They have lost only one of their last five league matches and possess a goal difference advantage of 12 goals over West Ham. Unless they suffer defeat, their Premier League status should remain intact.

West Ham Relegation Odds

West Ham are priced at 1/6 to be relegated and face the toughest task of the two clubs.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side have fallen into the bottom three after three consecutive Premier League defeats, including last weekend's damaging loss at Newcastle. Those results have left the Hammers requiring a win against Leeds and a favour from Everton.

The good news for West Ham is that their home form offers genuine encouragement. Before losing to champions Arsenal, they had gone six league matches unbeaten at the London Stadium and have lost only once in their last seven home Premier League fixtures.

Leeds, meanwhile, arrive in East London safe from relegation and with little tangible pressure on their shoulders. While Daniel Farke's side are unbeaten in eight league matches, West Ham know they cannot afford to concern themselves with events elsewhere until they secure three points themselves.

History also offers a glimmer of hope. Although teams starting the final day inside the relegation zone rarely survive, there have been several notable escapes over the Premier League era. Leeds themselves climbed out of the bottom three on the final day in 2021-22, proving that dramatic turnarounds remain possible.

The challenge for West Ham is that they need two results to go their way. The bookmakers make them slight favourites to beat Leeds at 5/6, but Everton are only 16/5 to win away at Tottenham. Combining those outcomes highlights why the Hammers remain odds-on for relegation.

For West Ham, the equation is simple: win, then hope Spurs crack under the pressure.
