Ballon dOr Odds: Who is Favourite to Win the Prestigious Trophy?

Harry Kane continues to lead the betting markets to win his first Ballon dOr trophy.

Harry Kane remains the man to beat in the 2026 Ballon d'Or betting, with the Bayern Munich striker continuing to hold a clear advantage at the top of the market. Kylian Mbappe has made the biggest move among the leading contenders, with his odds cut from 10/1 to as short as 6/1 since the start of the month.

Meanwhile, Lamine Yamal remains priced around the 5/1 mark after his League and World Cup-winning campaign. With punters continuing to show plenty of interest in the leading names, we take a closer look at the latest Ballon d'Or odds and where the betting is going.

Who is Favourite to Win the 2026 Ballon d'Or?

Latest odds from Oddschecker suggest Harry Kane is the clear favourite to win the 2026 Ballon d’Or, priced at 4/7 in the latest winner market. Lamine Yamal is his nearest challenger at 9/2, with Rodri and Kylian Mbappé both available at 8/1.

Kane’s odds imply a 64% chance of winning the award, while Yamal is rated at 18% and both Rodri and Mbappé at 11%.

Kane's case remains difficult to ignore after a sensational 2025/26 campaign in Germany, where he scored 61 goals in 51 appearances for Bayern Munich and claimed the Bundesliga title and DFB-Pokal. He then added six goals for England at the World Cup, helping the Three Lions reach the semi-finals.

That combination of elite club numbers and a productive international tournament has pushed Kane clear at the head of the market, with the England captain now looking to become the first Englishman to win the Ballon d'Or since Michael Owen in 2001.

Lamine Yamal remains the closest challenger to the England captain. The Barcelona winger has strengthened his case considerably after winning La Liga with Barcelona before playing a starring role as Spain lifted the World Cup. At just 19, Yamal could become the youngest player ever to win the award, and his ability to combine goals, assists and chance creation has kept him firmly among the favourites.

Kylian Mbappe Odds Slashed

Kylian Mbappe has been one of the biggest movers in the Ballon d'Or market since the start of September, with his odds slashed from 10/1 to as low as 6/1.

The Real Madrid forward finished as the World Cup's Golden Boot winner and added another major individual achievement to a season in which he also finished as the leading scorer in La Liga and the Champions League.

Mbappe's trophyless campaign with Real Madrid remains the obvious weakness in his case, particularly when compared with Yamal's success with Barcelona and Spain, but his individual numbers remain among the strongest in the field.

His current 6/1 price places him firmly inside the leading group and suggests the market has not written off his chances of overturning Kane's advantage before the award is handed out.

Rodri and Kvaratskhelia Still in the Mix

Rodri remains another major contender after playing a central role in Spain's World Cup triumph and being recognised as the tournament's best player.

The Barcelona midfielder is currently around 8/1, with his international success giving him a particularly strong argument given the importance voters traditionally place on major tournaments. His club campaign, however, was less convincing than some of the other leading candidates, which could ultimately prevent him from closing the gap on Kane.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is also around 8/1, having enjoyed another influential campaign at Paris Saint-Germain. With Kane, Yamal, Mbappe, Rodri and Kvaratskhelia occupying the front end of the market, there is now a clear five-player group dominating the conversation.

Ballon d'Or Betting Trends

According to Oddschecker data from the past seven days, Harry Kane has attracted nearly 44% of all bets placed on the Ballon d'Or market, making him comfortably the most backed player.

Kylian Mbappe follows with 15%, while Lamine Yamal has received 13.0% of bets. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is backed by 7.5% punters after winning back-to-back Champions League, and 7% people back Rodri to win his second Ballon dOr title.
