A third round 66 has put Tiger right into contention and he has been cut from 66/1 to as short as 10/1.
With birdies flying in from all angles on the Saturday at Carnoustie, Tiger Woods rolled back the years, the main attraction on a day where the buzzing spectators were being treated to some sumptuous golf.
Woods came into the day even par after shooting two solid 71s in his first two rounds. You could have backed him as big as 66/1 this morning, whilst some firms were still pricing him rather conservatively, as short as 40/1 and 33/1.
It was the fourth hole where Tiger picked up his first birdie, and from then on, he scored five more before three-putting from a decent position to post a score of 66. The 17 time major champion is now as short as 10/1, whilst 14/1 is the biggest price still on offer.
Oddschecker spokesman, George Elek ‘There’s not many better watches in sport than when Tiger is in full flow and the punters who took the 66/1 this morning will be feeling very smug now.
For all that, Tiger is still in the shadow of Jordan Spieth. Last year’s champion has received the most bets through Oddschecker today and is the current 5/1 favourite’
