Masters Betting Odds: Spieth still 12/1 after second at Pebble

Masters Betting Odds: Spieth still 12/1 after second at Pebble

Jordan Spieth remains a best price 12/1 in the Masters Betting Odds through oddschecker after coming second in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro Am.

The 28-year-old moved up two places to 13th in the latest Official World Golf Rankings even after a costly bogey at 17 which opened the door for Tom Hoge to seal the win. Before that, he had looked well set for just a second PGA Tour win since The Open – his third major win – back in July 2017.

Spieth well set for a second Masters title bid

Augusta is a happy-ish hunting ground for Spieth, who famously followed his first major win at the Masters in 2015 by blowing up on the back nine to finish second behind Danny Willett in 2016. He also has top three finishes at the event from 2014, 2018 and 2021.

Hoge, himself up 29 spots to 39th, will become the first North Dakotan to play in the Masters since Oxbow amateur Mike Podolak in 1983. He enters the betting at a best price 150/1.

Meanwhile, Patrick Cantlay – the highest ranked player on show at Pebble – holds firm at 22/1 in the Masters betting odds despite birdieing three of his first six holes on Sunday to tie for the lead. His only other birdie on the day came at 18 as he finished in a tie for fourth.

Seamus loses Power after fast start at Pebble

Another big story over the weekend was the demise of Seamus Power, as the Irishman threw away a five-shot lead at the halfway stage to limp home just inside the top 10. The 34-year-old did at least move up four spaces in the world rankings to 46, making him a little more comfortable in the top 50.

Power, like so many others including former world number one Jason Day, can still qualify for the Masters either by winning a PGA Tour event or ranking inside the world’s top 50 after the final week before the Masters. Day threatened again at the AT&T with opening rounds of 68 and 66 before fading over the weekend (70, 74) to finish just inside the top 25.

When is the Masters 2022?

There will be round-the-clock coverage on Sky Sports' dedicated Masters channel from April 4-10, but the four days of action start on the 7th with the eventual winner donning the Green Jacket on Sunday 10th April.
