Scottie Scheffler is dominating the betting for this week's US Open.
Since 2014, no golfer has taken a higher % of the bets to win the US Open than the world number one Scottie Scheffler for the 2024 renewal.
That's according to bets placed through oddschecker in the 30 days leading up to the tournament. At the time of writing, Scheffler accounts for just short of 15% of the bets, almost double the share of the most backed player 12 months ago.

Scheffler's dominance in the market was only strengthened by his win at the Memorial yesterday, his fifth success of a trophy laden 2024.
The world number one became just the second player after Tiger Woods to win the Players Championship, Masters and Memorial Tournament in the same year.
He is a general 3/1 to win the US Open 2024 at Pinehurst (shortest 29/10 on BetGoodwin and best price 7/2 on AK Bets).
Last year, Wyndham Clark became the first winner of the US Open since the change in major schedule not to have finished in the top 10 of the US PGA Championship that year - Scheffler finished T8 at Valhalla despite his police drama.
A word of caution though for Scheffler backers - none of the previous 16 pre-tournament favourites have gone on to win the US Open.
