Too Darn Hot reinforces 2000 Guineas claims with scorching Dewhurst win

The sky is the limit for the unbeaten two-year-old.

Unbeaten colt Too Darn Hot is now as short as 5/4 for the 2000 Guineas following an outstanding victory in the Dewhurst Stakes.

The full brother to Lah Ti Dar looked as though he could be in trouble coming down the hill but as the ground levelled out, jockey Frankie Dettori pressed the accelerator and the juvenile roared forward in the final furlong to win by over two lengths. It was a first win in the Dewhurst for Dettori and trainer John Gosden.

Beginning the day as big as 6/1 for the 2000 Guineas, Lord Lloyd Webber's two-year-old was slashed into clear favourite following the performance and is best price 7/4 for the race.

Punters wasted no time piling in and since the horse passed the post, he has accounted for 77.3% of all bets on the market. Persian King, who won the Autumn Stakes, is the next most backed with 8;8% of bets and was cut from 25/1 to as short as 10/1,

Too Darn Hot also cemented his position at the top of the 2019 Derby market, where he is now as short as 5/2 after being available at 6/1 this morning, and has been the subject of 68% of bets.
