Punters are hopeful he can strike again in the form of Persuasion who looks a really exciting two-year-old. Straight into this Group 3, there is clearly more to come this grandson of Galileo.
Constantinople – 5/2 – York 15:00
He is a complicated horse, however, he has put in some very good showings so far this year and has been unlucky in his last two runs – losing by a neck each time. He is facing up to his conqueror last time out Nayef Road, however, he gets a 3lb pull this time and that is bound to make a difference. He has an entry in the St Ledger so Aidan O’Brien must think highly of this horse. It may all come together today, and punters seem to think so with a steam of bets throughout the day for Ryan Moore’s ride. Logician is an obvious threat but there is a lot of talk over the calibre of opponents he has beaten and that may be why Oddschecker users are leaning towards Constantinople to win today.
Crystal Ocean – 11/8 – York 15:35
The feature race of the day and Oddschecker users have been piling into the Sir Michael Stoute trained five-year-old to land the Juddmonte International. After going toe to toe with enable on Champions Day in an absolute thriller, he comes here looking to land his second Group 1 of the season. He is a versatile horse and conditions today should not be a problem. This son of Sea the Stars has gone to strength to strength as he has got older and is now the best horse on ratings. He faces a tough task with the progressive King of Comedy his main challenge. Punters are not being deterred however, and believe Crystal Ocean has too much for his rivals.
