Stradivarius has shortened to 4/5 for a third Yorkshire Cup success after the non-entry of big rival Trueshan for the Grade 2 contest.

Earlier in the week we asked Architect Tips for his take on the Yorkshire Cup, whether or not we ended up seeing part III of Trueshan vs Stradivarius - two superstars of the staying division who were entered for the Group Two one-mile-six-furlong event on the Knavesmire.
He said at the time that Stradivarius (now 4/5) would shorten to lift the trophy for a third time (2018 and 2019 winner), with his arch rival doubtful unless conditions softened up throughout the week.

Now that the doubts over Trueshan have proved founded, Architect believes that the favourite might instead be given a problem or two by Dermot Weld’s dual Irish St Leger winner SEARCH FOR A SONG (into 5/1 from 14/1) given she’s proven herself at the very highest level.
Architect Tips said of her chances: “From an each-way point of view, the one who appeals the most is Search For A Song. She gets the allowances, she is one-from-one at the course and gets her favoured good to firm ground so there’s a lot to like about her chances in Friday’s feature event.”
