Cheltenham Festival 2023: Banbridge heads Market Movers after Arkle Trial win

Cheltenham Festival 2023: Banbridge heads Market Movers after Arkle Trial win

Banbridge is a big market mover for the Arkle Chase at the Cheltenham Festival 2023 having impressed at the November Meeting.

Banbridge: 33/1 > 10/1 (16/1 Best Price) for the Arkle Chase

Irish raider Banbridge had already shown a liking for fences with a decisive victory at Gowran in early October and showed up well once again at Prestbury Park having been dropped back in trip to 2M - beating Tommy's Oscar by six lengths in the Arkle Trial Novices' Chase.

Running in the famous silks of owner Ronnie Bartlett, six-year-old Banbridge has been shortened from 33/1 into a best price 16/1 for the Arkle Chase at the Cheltenham Festival 2023. He has also come in from 20/1 to a best price 12/1 for the Turners (8/1 with one bookmaker).

Hermes Allen: 33/1 > 8/1 (12/1 Best Price) for the Ballymore

Hermes Allen kept up his unbeaten record since joining Paul Nicholls after winning by nine lengths from Music Drive in the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle. Unfortunately, the form of the five-year-old - bought for £350,000 having won an Irish point-to-point - has not been lost on the bookmakers.

He was cut from 33/1 into 12/1 best price for the Ballymore (8/1 worst) at the Cheltenham Festival, while he has come in from 33/1 to 16s for the Albert Bartlett (8/1 with one bookmaker).

Queens Gamble:  50/1 > 8/1 (Best Price 10/1) Champion Bumper

Queens Gamble made it two from two at Cheltenham, powering home to win by eight lengths in the Mares' Open National Hunt Flat Race on Paddy Power Gold Cup day.

Trained by Oliver Sherwood – back racing for the first time since finishing a course of chemotherapy - the four-year-old followed a 10-length success on her racecourse bow at the track in April to win in similarly convincing fashion as 9/4 favourite.

The bookmakers have reacted accordingly, chopping Queens Gamble from a huge 50/1 into a best price 10/1 (8/1 worst) joint favourite for the Champion Bumper at next year’s Cheltenham Festival.
