Two banker bets for Tuesday at the Cheltenham Festival.
The Cheltenham 2024 Festival begins tomorrow, (Tuesday 12th March) when the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle kicks off the biggest meeting in National Hunt racing.
Day 1 of the Festival features some of the biggest names in racing including jockey, Paul Townend who will be taking the bridle of four favourites as he goes on the search of back-to-back top jockey titles this year.
Two of those favourites have been at the centre of a lot of the discussion around the seven races on Tuesday, as punters go back and forth about whether they are bankers or not.
Those horses are of course the impressive State Man who will ride in the 15:30 Champion Hurdle and the mare Lossiemouth who features in the Mares’ Hurdle in the following race.
Both horses have attracted a significant amount of support from punters and are currently at odds on prices.

Cheltenham 2024 Day 1 Tips: Who are the bankers?
State Man (Champion Hurdle)
With the reigning champion, Constitution Hill out of the picture, all eyes are on State Man who is off the back of an impressive five-length win over Bob Olinger at last month’s Dublin Racing Festival in the Irish Champion Hurdle.
The race appears to have opened up for Willie Mullins' short-priced favourite, who can be found at a best price of 4/11 at Unibet currently.
He was four lengths clear of the third placed horse last year when chasing home Constitution Hill, after he was a clear second best to Nicky Henderson’s seven-year-old.
The ground is unlikely to be an issue for him, having proven his versatility when it comes to a soft going.
The race was advertised as a two horse race and without Constitution Hill, State Man, who has won ten of his last 11 races over hurdles, just looks have too much class for this field and should be hard to beat.
Lossiemouth (Mares’ Hurdle)
Last year’s Triumph winner comes here relatively unexposed having only had one run this season when she won a Grade 2 at the Cheltenham course 45 days ago.
She has won five of her six starts under Willie Mullins who hasn’t saddled a winner in this race since 2018.
Theres a slight concern over the trip as she steps up to 2m4f for the first time and the question remains whether Townsend will be able to find the gears to get an extra two furlongs out of her.
However, it no doubt that she has bags of talent, and with the speed she possesses, provided her stamina holds up, she should be very hard to beat.
Lossiemouth can currently be found at best odds of 4/6 at most bookmakers.
