Jonjo O'Neill's improving hurdler is considered a major player in this race but he isn't the favourite with bettors.
The Plate is a handicap chase run over the same intermediate trip as the Ryanair. The race has been run since 1951 where there was a dead heat finish in the inaugural running.
The Plate is another race that has eluded the capture of Willie Mullins and has been won by a different trainer for the last 11 years. No horse this century has won the race more than once.

This JP McManus-owned seven-year-old, Crebilly, rounded off his campaign last season over hurdles with a win at Sandown and looked unlucky on his chase debut at Cheltenham when he fell at the last when going best.
He wasn’t in the same form next time, but he opened his account in this sphere at Exeter and could be well handicapped off a mark of 140.
He faces strong competition from Theatre Man who is ridden by Harry Cobden. He finished a very good second to Ginnys Destiny (now rated 155 and contesting Grade 1 races) last time out at Cheltenham and enters this race off an attractive mark of 137. The trip looks ideal and he looks set to run a good race.
