Emmet Mullins is being heavily backed to follow up his Cheltenham Day 1 success with the favourite Its On The Line in the Hunters' Chase today.
The Hunters’ Chase is run over the same course and distance as the preceding Gold Cup. It is the third of three races at the Festival that is only open to amateur riders and, as such, is sometimes referred to as the amateur Gold Cup.
The race has been run since 1946 and has seen various dual winners including the recent Pacha du Polder, On The Fringe and Salsify.
Paul Nicholls is the joint leading trainer of the race with four wins alongside Richard Barber. Last year’s 2nd placed It’s On The Line has recently been purchased by J.P. McManus as he bids to go one place better.

Emmet Mullins’ seven-year-old Its On The Line (36% backed through oddschecker) has won his last three starts, including both starts this season, and beat the former winner of this race, Billaway, when last spotted. He has won five and finished runner up in two of his 10 starts over fences.
He only found one too good when runner-up in this race 12 months ago but wasn’t beaten far and must have every chance of going one better this time around, having done little wrong since.
The Cheltenham Festival is famous for driving the bookmakers to up their generosity. Luckily, our free bets guide has every offer listed, from bet and gets to deposit matches, you’re covered.
