Two outside bets for the Epsom Derby are in action at Lingfield on Saturday.
Just over half an hour after the Fillies’ Trial at Lingfield, the boys will do battle in the William Hill Lingfield Derby Trial Stakes (15.00), with a view to the Epsom Derby.
The two to concentrate on here are the first and second favourites, Illinois and Defiance, who are both available at 33/1 for Epsom’s feature on Saturday 1st June.
The former is trained by Aidan O’Brien and is the very marginal favourite for this weekend’s race (5/2 best price on William Hill).

He won his first couple of starts before finishing third in the Group 1 Criterium de Saint-Cloud.
He then filled that same spot on his return in the Group 3 Ballysax Stakes despite being sent off as the odds-on favourite and expected to succeed.
