There are all different types of betting terminology when it comes to horse racing, and this is one of the most popular and one you will often find in race cards via the verdict and tips section, but not everyone will know what this term actually is, so here I will explain.

What does NAP mean in horse racing?
The NAP is used to refer to a tipster’s best bet. In simple terms, it is a selection that the tipster has the most confidence in on that chosen day, whether this has been nominated as a win or each-way tip, the tipster is confident of a return from the NAP recommendation compared to a standard tip.
Although the NAP isn’t always guaranteed to win given the many things that can happen in a horse race, the probability of a return on the tipster’s NAP is greater than a standard tip given the thorough research that has gone into identifying the NAP that the tipster has provided.
Following a NAP selection can help improve accuracy and stability, as there are many contributing factors that need to be taken into account before the tipster has finalised their best bet of the day.
What is different with a NAP compared to a standard tip is that the best bet can vary and is not selected every day, as it’s a selective recommendation.
