Odds fall on Trump to be impeached before end of first term

Following rumours abound on social media overnight Ladbrokes think it less likely that Trump will still be in office by 2020.

Donald Trump today finds himself in the midst of another scandal, just days before he is set to be inaugurated as President of the United States of America.

Published in full by BuzzFeed News, the story claims there are memos compromising personal and financial information concerning Trump, allegedly held by Russia. The part that has most triggered the #watersportsgate trending on Twitter is this:

The FBI is reportedly investigating the truth of the 'Golden Shower' allegations that are part of a 35-page compilation of memos. The claims have not been verified and it's not clear whether any of it is true.

That hasn't stopped a reaction to more speculation around Trump's personal life from the bookies though, with Trump's odds shortening from 5/4 to evens to leave office via impeachment or resignation before the end of his first term.

While this story very well have no substance, it could be Trump's record of formal scandals that has caused a reaction in betting markets with the potential of more to come during his time as President. He does, though, still remain the 6/4 favourite to win the election in 2020, with various democrats just behind him in the betting.
