2020 US Election Odds: Donald Trump's chances drop to 36.4% ahead of final debate

It's been a bad day for Donald Trump in the US election betting markets

  • Trumps odds have been dealt a blow following Chinese bank account allegations - from 6/4 to 7/4, implying only a 36.4% chance of him being re-elected.
  • Biden looks set to capitalise on that move during the final debate tonight in Nashville.

2020 US Election Odds

New York Times dealt another crushing blow to Donald Trump today after they released claims that the current POTUS still holds a bank account China. The report will likely play a crucial role in the upcoming election and most certainly be at the forefront of a heated debate tonight.

The report comes a few weeks after the New York Times released another article claiming Donald Trump had not paid income tax in 10 of the last 15 years. It must be noted that both of these reports are just claims against Trump, however, they have both had serious implications on the US election odds market.

Donald Trump's odds dipped to 6/5 following New York Times report on his taxes last month, which at the time implied he had a 45.5% chance of winning the 2020 election. His odds since then have remained pretty constant in the market, and he could have been backed at 6/4 yesterday, which implied Donald Trump had a 40% chance of winning the US election.

However, the current Presidents odds have taken a significant dip following today's allegations.

Donald Trump's Odds Of Winning The 2020 US Election

In the last twenty-four hours, every single bookmaker on Oddschecker has lengthened the odds of Donald Trump winning the 2020 election. His odds have moved from 6/4 to 7/4, which implies Trump now only has a 36.4% chance of winning the election.

As expected, Joe Biden's odds of winning the 2020 US election have moved in the opposite way, yesterday. Joe Biden's odds sat at 10/17, which implied he had a 63% chance of winning the November election. However, Biden's odds have been cut to 8/15, which means his chances of winning the election have grown to 65.2%.
