With fresh charges placed against former US President Donald Trump by a court in Georgia, the next US President odds market has taken yet another twist.
Trump’s indictment comes after alleged election interference in Georgia during the 2020 election cycle, where he narrowly lost out to Joe Biden. These are the fourth set of charges he has faced and, on this count, it seems the evidence against him is clear.
In a recorded phone call between the former US President and Brad Raffensperger, Georgia’s Secretary of State, Trump can be heard saying: “Fellas, I need 11,000 more votes, give me a break.” For prosecutors, it is proof Trump has been caught in the act of asking for votes he had not received. How will this affect the next US president odds market?

Donald Trump Next US President Odds
At the time of writing, Donald Trump’s next US President Odds are 9/4, putting him only marginally behind favourite Biden. Expect these prices to change if Trump is found guilty.

Republican Candidate Betting Odds
Trump is the 4/11 favourite to be the Republican Candidate in the 2024 US Presidential Election, but other candidates worth a look include Cincinnati-born biotech entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy (7/1). Current Governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, is next in line at 8/1.
Democratic Candidate Betting Odds
Biden looks certain to retain his Democratic candidacy (4/11). Second in the market is Gavin Newsom (8/1), while Kennedy Jr (nephew of John F. Kennedy) - known for his anti-vaccination stance - comes in at a best price of 14/1. Kennedy’s 16/1 odds to take the job in the White House are an outside bet, but then so was Trump in 2016.
Trump, of course, may still survive the court proceedings, but he may not be so lucky when it comes to the Next US President Odds. The market indicates that it is still Biden’s election to lose but Trump will fight having already plead not guilty.
More twists will no doubt be in store.
