US Election Odds: Kamala Harris 57% backed to become next president

Kamala Harris is currently leading the betting to become the next US president.

Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, continues to hold a narrow lead in the race to become the 47th President of the United States, according to betting odds.

Less than a month ago, Donald Trump seemed almost certain to reclaim the presidency. He had survived an assassination attempt and was riding high in the polls, with odds as short as 7/20.

However, since Kamala Harris replaced Joe Biden as the Democratic candidate, Trump's odds have lengthened to as long as 11/10.

Harris (best price 10/11) has reinvigorated the election, generating a wave of excitement Trump is struggling to counter.

In fact, over the last seven days through oddschecker, among the two top candidates Harris has taken 57% of bets to Trump's 43%.

Trump vs Harris Odds

Kamala Harris is currently beating Donald Trump in the race to become the next US president.

She is a best price of 10/11 (AKBets) to win the election in November, giving the Vice-President an implied chance of 52%.

Donald Trump is a best price of 11/10 (Starsports) to win, giving him an implied chance of 48%.

The race appeared to be all but won by Donald Trump when President Biden was his opposition with Trump's odds to win as low as 7/20 (74% implied chance) the day before Biden announced he would be stepping down.

However momentum has shifted with Kamala Harris taking over with many voters preferring the democratic candidate, who they view as more trustworthy and honest.

Interestingly, Harris is also popular with bettors, she has received 49% of bets made through oddschecker on potential winners of the US election in the past seven days.

Donald Trump has taken 37% of total bets, perhaps reflecting who is winning the popularity race.

Kamala Harris Odds

Kamala Harris initially faced long odds of winning the U.S. presidency, with bookmakers giving her just a 9/2 chance (an 18% implied probability) when Joe Biden was running for president.

However, with growing concerns over Biden's health and fitness, Harris emerged as the frontrunner to succeed him as the Democratic nominee.

When Biden officially announced he would not seek re-election, Harris’s odds dramatically improved, shortening to 7/4.

Her prospects surged further after she announced Tim Walz as her running mate on August 6th, with her odds reaching their lowest point.

Since then, Harris has maintained her momentum, holding steady at a best price of 10/11.
