US Election Results UK Time
The results of the US presidential election will begin to emerge shortly after the polls close on Tuesday 5th November.
Poll closing times vary by state, typically ranging from 6 PM to midnight Eastern Time (11 PM to 5 AM GMT).
Initial results are expected to trickle in around 8 PM Eastern (1 AM GMT) from states like Georgia and North Carolina, where polls close early.
However, key battleground states such as Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin may take longer to report due to the high volume of mail-in ballots that require careful counting.
In close races, it’s not uncommon for final results to be delayed, potentially taking several days to confirm the winner.
In comparison, the 2020 election occurred on 3rd November, with Joe Biden declared the winner on 7th November.
