Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl Odds Slashed Following Record Shutout Victory Over New York Giants

Following their franchise-record win against divisional rivals New York Giants, the Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl odds have slashed.

Following a franchise-record win at MetLife Stadium, the Cowboys' Super Bowl odds have sharply decreased from 16/1 to 10/1. Last night's 40-0 triumph over the Giants stands as the largest shutout in Cowboys history, trumping their 38-0 victory against the Baltimore Ravens back in 1978.

Quarterback Dak Prescott showcased his skills with 143 yards on 13-of-24 passes. Meanwhile, RB Tony Pollard impressed with two touchdowns and 70 rushing yards.

The defensive line for the Cowboys was unyielding throughout the game, forcing the Giants into three turnovers and sacking quarterback Daniel Jones on seven occasions.

Sportsbooks responded rapidly to this dominant display by adjusting the Cowboys' Super Bowl odds from 16/1 to a more favorable 10/1, with the best odds currently sitting at 13/1. At the onset of the season, the Cowboys were pegged as the 7th favorites in the Super Bowl outright market. Now, they've bypassed both the Ravens and Bengals to sit as fifth favorites.

Interestingly, only 3.3% of total bets in this market were placed on the Cowboys before the season commenced. This number has nearly tripled to 9.3% within the last 24 hours.

Looking forward, the Cowboys are set to host the New York Jets in their Week Two matchup, following the Jets' opener tonight against the Bills. The Cowboys are currently the 8/13 favorites on the Moneyline.

Quote from OddsChecker spokesperson, Leon Blackman: “The Cowboys kicked off the season with the kind of start their fans have dreamt of — a record-breaking shutout against the Giants. Their formidable defense, coupled with an explosive offense, has prompted sportsbooks to recalibrate their Super Bowl odds. The road ahead will undoubtedly bring tougher challenges, but could this be the season they make a triumphant return to the Championship game?”
