Killers of the Flower Moon, Martin Scorsese’s latest blockbuster starring Leonardo di Caprio, is set for international release on Wednesday 18th October.
Killers of the Flower Moon had long been the betting favourite to win the ‘Best Picture Award’ at the 2024 Oscars in March.
However, the film was usurped as the bookmakers’ favourite for the award following the release of Oppenheimer in late July.
Christopher Nolan’s World War II biographic was the third highest-grossing film of 2023 (Behind Barbie & Super Mario Bros.) at $942 million.
These two films have made it a two-horse race to win the ‘Best Picture Award’, taking three-quarter of total bets in this market over the last six months.

A staggering 71% of bets with us have been on Martin Scorsese’s film to win the award, compared to only 21% in the two months prior.
“In the week following the release of Oppenheimer in late July, we saw the odds shift from 4/1 to the 2/1 favourite for the award. This week will be another pivotal one in the betting market as we await what effect Killers of the Flower Moon’s public release will have on the odds.”
