Eurovision Odds 2024: What are the odds on UK winning Eurovision 2024?

The odds on the UK winning Eurovision 2024 were slashed after the big breaking news announced during the 2023 Strictly Come Dancing final.

The breaking news was, of course, that Olly Alexander will represent the United Kingdom at the 68th Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö, Sweden in May 2024.

As the lead singer of Years & Years, Olly has achieved two number one albums and a number one single (King), while he was nominated for various TV awards for his performance as Ritchie Tozer in Channel 4's 2021 drama series It's a Sin. The 33-year-old is a six-time Brit Awards nominee.

The United Kingdom are now the joint favourites to win Eurovision 2024 at a best price of 7/1 on Sky Bet alongside 2022 winners Ukraine. They had been 15/1 before Olly Alexander was confirmed as the UK representative for Eurovision 2024 on Saturday evening. This year’s winners, Sweden, are also 7/1 on Sky Bet but can be backed at 10/1 on Coral.

Who is the favourite to win Eurovision 2024?

The UK are joint favourites with Ukraine to win Eurovision 2024 next May. The two countries are matched at 7/1 on Sky Bet, giving an implied win probability of 12.5%.

How many times has the UK won Eurovision?

The UK are five-time winners of the Eurovision Song Contest, but haven’t won the award since 1997 with ‘Love Shine a Light’ performed by Katrina and the Waves.

Ireland remain the joint most successful nation with seven wins (none since 1996), the same number as reigning champions Sweden who have won in three of the last 12 years.

The UK finished in 25th place in 2023, with Mae Muller collecting just 24 points (Sweden won with 583) for her rendition of ‘I Wrote A Song’.
