Richard E Grant is the 1/3 favourite to be the first celebrity banished from The Celebrity Traitors, after one of the most chaotic openings the show has seen. Maya Jama, one of Claudia Winkleman's two original Traitors, leads the winner odds at 4/1, just ahead of Michael Sheen at 9/2.
Grant was picked as a Traitor by Claudia Winkleman alongside Maya Jama, then told fellow players in the bar minutes later that he was a Traitor. Episode two ended with the first round table under way but no votes cast. The verdict will be revealed when the show returns on BBC One and iPlayer at 8pm on Thursday 8 October.
Celebrity Traitors First Banishment Odds

| Richard E Grant (Traitor) | 1/3 |
| Leigh-Anne Pinnock | 8/1 |
| Ross Kemp | 10/1 |
| Bella Ramsey | 12/1 |
Richard E Grant Favourite to Be Banished First
At 1/3, Grant has an implied chance of 75% of being the first to leave Ardross Castle, and it's easy to see why. "That may be the biggest mistake I have ever made in my life," he admitted after his slip. "I was so thrilled to have been chosen as a traitor that in my unguarded excitement, I said, 'Of course I'm a traitor'."
The round table was building against him when episode two ended. Julie Hesmondhalgh warned: "I think we are at risk of being the most idiotic group of faithfuls in the world, if we go for someone else tonight." Grant isn't going quietly, though: "I do not go down without a fight."
He does have a friend in Jerry Hall, his neighbour, who said: "I just don't believe Richard's a traitor, I've known him 30 years."
Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Ross Kemp in the Banishment Betting
Leigh-Anne Pinnock is second favourite at 8/1. She drew suspicion for touching up her make-up late at night, and for rubbing Kemp's arm in the bar, which left him fearing a murder in plain sight.
Kemp is 10/1 after a paranoid first two episodes. When Bella Ramsey placed a captain's hat on his head, he asked: "You didn't just kill me did you?" The Traitors then picked him to stay above ground in the buried-alive mission, and Acaster explained why: "if we give it to Ross, he'll overthink it, and behave in a way that would draw suspicion." Ramsey completes the market at 12/1.

Maya Jama Favourite to Win The Celebrity Traitors
Maya Jama is the favourite. Grant's slip dominated the first two episodes. Maya, by contrast, has stayed quiet and functional. She and Richard ran the recruitment together, chose James Acaster (who pitched himself partly as someone who could help cover Richard) and murdered Amol Rajan. Nothing in the two episodes shows the group building a case against her. The only notable mention is Sebastian Croft saying she would make a good Traitor, which is speculation
Sheen is second favourite at 9/2 and is the shortest-priced Faithful. His plan going in was "just to try and stay hidden", and so far he has done exactly that.
James Acaster and the Faithfuls Chasing the Pot
Acaster is third favourite at 6/1. He was recruited in episode two, when Amol Rajan was murdered, but his link to Grant could cost him. "Richard is a loose cannon," he admitted, and Hall and Hesmondhalgh have already voiced suspicion of him.
Romesh Ranganathan is 7/1 after leading the pressure on Grant at the round table: "You've given us all a problem… I feel like you forced our hand." Sebastian Croft is 9/1 and Joe Lycett is 12/1. Lycett was protected from the first murder by the shield Julie Hesmondhalgh passed him.
Grant is the outsider at 50/1, and his price reflects how likely it is that Thursday's vote goes against him.
Celebrity Traitors 2026: How It Works and What's Next
Series one ended with Alan Carr winning as a Traitor and taking £87,500 for Neuroblastoma UK. Up to £100,000 is on offer this time for the winner's chosen charity. Missions so far have built a £20,000 pot.
Hall shouted the safe word in episode two, so only she and Hannah Fry can be murdered next.
The Celebrity Traitors airs on Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
