15:00 Friday

There are two matches across Friday 23rd May and Saturday 24th May in the Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket and we've got betting selections in each of them.

On Friday, Royal Challengers Benguluru take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad, while Saturday sees the Delhi Capitals against the Punjab Kings.

Friday IPL Betting Tips

Royal Challengers Benguluru vs Sunrisers Hyderabad

RCB find themselves in the unusual position of playing a home game away from the Chinnaswamy as this game is being held in Lucknow to avoid adverse weather conditions.

The first bet for this game is in the "Total Match 4s" Market and we are looking to go over any line that is lower than 30 here (currently 29.5 with Paddy Power/Ladbrokes).

So far this tournament the pitches at Lucknow have been much improved on previous seasons, with SRH chasing down a 200+ score in their last game. What has been consistent throughout is the number of 4s being scored at this venue.

With 30 or more 4s being struck in five of the six games here this season, with an average of 33 and 2 teams that average over 16 4s per game this tournament, 4/5 for over 29.5 match 4s is the value angle to play here.

Seeing as last week we never got a chance to see Lungi Ngidi in the "Player Total Wickets Market" (with bet365), we can look to attack this again at the same price. Lungi Ngidi has come back into the RCB team at a crucial time in their season, and was successful in his first game taking three wickets, whilst helping them to defend their 1st innings score.

Ngidi has taken 28 wickets in his 15 career IPL matches and the fact he will be a death bowler in this RCB bowling attack, over 1.5 wickets for him at 12/5 looks a fantastic price.

Advised Bets:

  • Total Match 4s - Over 30.5 10/11 (Betfred)
  • Lungi Ngidi Total Wickets - Over 1.5 12/5 (bet365)

Saturday IPL Tips

Delhi Capitals vs Punjab Kings

On Saturday we move to Jaipur and the player we will look to take on is Abishek Porel. His run line is 24.5 and we will look to take the under. After a strong start to the season Porels form has dwindled, scoring just 76 runs in his last five matches. Punjab have a strong bowling attack, with international quality players such as Marco Jansen and Arshdeep Singh and I believe this line is around five high.

The second market that offers some value in this match is the "Player of the Match" and we will look to back Sameer Rizvi. Quite a simple one here, batted at four last match and top scored for Delhi. With Delhi elimination from the tournament, they are likely to back their young player again next game.

Advised Bets:

  • Abishek Porel Runs - Under 24.5 5/6 (General)
  • Player of the Match - Sameer Rizvi 33/1 (Paddy Power/Betfair)
