The first of the quarter-finals see surprise package Derbyshire face two-time winners Hampshire
Derbyshire v Hampshire - Wednesday 18.30, Sky Sports Cricket
Derbyshire feature in their first ever domestic T20 quarter final on Tuesday night and will be looking to continue the form that saw them finish second in the North group. Wayne Madsen has been in excellent form with the bat, scoring 522 runs at 52.20, as has Luis Reece, who’s scored 417 at 37.90. With the ball, the ever-impressive Imran Tahir has taken 17 wickets.
Captain James Vince has lead Hampshire from the front, with 431 runs at just under 36, and the south coast side also boast Australian international George Bailey in their ranks. Young leg-spinner Mason Crane has taken 15 wickets, while Liam Dawson has taken nine in only six matches. They will also be backed up by Gareth Berg and Kyle Abbott, who have both been impressive in the competition to date.
Although Derbyshire have been the surprise package of this year’s campaign, a lack of big game experience could well prove costly against a side full of international experience on the big stage.
