Euro 2021 Prediction: Czech Republic vs Denmark Prediction

  • Only England have had less shots on target than Czech Republic in the final eight (13).
  • Denmark have had the most shots on target of the final eight (30).

Euro 2020 Prediction: Denmark to Win and Under 4.5 Goals

Two of the lesser likely nations to get this far meet in Baku on Saturday, both have a great shout of upsetting the odds and it should be a very competitive clash. Denmark have gone from strength to strength after the unfortunate and emotional events of their opener with Finland and have put up some superb numbers.

Under Kasper Hjulmand they’ve upped the tempo from being a more functional side, more happy to concede possession to one that looks to grab games by the scruff of the neck and pile the pressure on with fluid movements in the attacking half of the pitch. The switch to a back three has given greater license for the impressive Joakim Maehle to get forward and aid attacks, but getting through this stubborn Czech side could prove tricky.

Jaroslav Silhavy has made his team seriously competitive and loves to ruin game plans for the opposition. It’s quite a direct style that suits this side down to the ground and their obdurate approach has seen them be bang in games and get the better of Holland last time out. Set piece situations have been key for the Czechs but with the height Denmark boast in their ranks they could be nullified in that sense.

Denmark do have a greater quality of player on average compared to their counterparts here and they could edge this one out, goals could be relatively hard to come by though so chucking under 4.5 goals alongside a win for the Danes at 11/8 looks a nice angle in.

Euro 2020 Prediction: Over 9.5 Corners

One interesting trend with these two sides is the amount of corners they’re racking up. Denmark have hit 9, 7 and 9 corners against Finland, Russia and Wales respectively, and with the high press they look to adopt it’s to be expected. Czech Republic play with width too, Jakub Jankto and Lukas Masopust looking to be direct and get crosses into the dangerous Patrick Schick. They’ve seen 49 corners in their 4 games, an average of 12.25, hitting 4 or more themselves in each game.

We can get an attractive 6/5 on over 9.5 corners here and with the likelihood of a side having to chase the game at some point it could be a way to go.
