Betting Tip: Liverpool to win and under 3.5 goals

Even with some key midfield men out in their season opener at Norwich, Liverpool cruised to a 3-0 victory to start their campaign off in style. All their front three got on the scoresheet and look back to their lively best after a rare restful summer for the majority. They’ll be delighted to be back playing in front of a packed out Anfield again, their record at base with fans in the stadium is superb.

Jurgen Klopp managed to see Jordan Henderson and Thiago involved in a midweek friendly as both come back into contention, however James Milner and Naby Keita could keep their places after a decent performance last week. They look a much more solid outfit with Fabinho back in defensive midfield and Virgil Van Dijk at the back, their spine is now back in tact and the Reds should show more defensive resolve this term.

Burnley were edged out 2-1 in a close game at home to Brighton, it carries on their poor form from the end of last season and there’s a real worry that the Sean Dyche cycle may be coming to a halt. It’s another summer of little on the transfer front and their lack of craft and creativity could hinder their chances of survival if opposition teams give more respect to their style of play.

Only relegated West Brom and Sheffield United scored fewer goals than the Clarets and in games against the big six they often came unstuck. I can see a comfortable home win, probably to nil but without racking up a cricket score. Therefore the odds-against offering on Liverpool to win and under 3.5 goals makes appeal.
