Liverpool made it 5/5 wins in their Champions League game midweek with a comfortable victory over Porto. They look in great shape and will have benefitted from resting some key men midweek ahead of this visit from Southampton.
The Saints have done ok of late but defeat at Norwich last week was a tough one to take. They have been pretty poor on the road too with their only win coming at Watford. Defensively they’ve conceded 2 or more in 4/6 away games and given Liverpool score 2 or more goals pretty much every game it shouldn’t be too much of a fuss for the Reds.
Their Anfield record under Jurgen Klopp is outrageous and there’s a case they should be even shorter than the 1/3 that’s they’re available at to win here. I’m happy to take the hosts with a -1 start on the handicap though given their ruthless nature.
