Wales vs Belgium Tips
Betting Tip: Belgium win
The Welsh were about to continue the party when they netted a 92nd-minute equaliser at home to the Netherlands last time out. But exactly 100 seconds later, Wout Weghorst fired the visitors back in front in what turned out to be a superb Nations League match.
Meanwhile, Belgium bounced back from their humiliating defeat to the Dutch by inflicting a beating of their own as they cruised to a 6-1 win over Poland. That was just the third victory across Belgium’s last eight internationals but you can never disregard the goal threat they have within their squad.
Belgium have often been criticised over the fact they haven’t achieved any success despite the world-class talent they have at their disposal. With the World Cup just around the corner, the ‘Red Devils’ will be eager to put a string of solid performances together and will feel confident about extending their goalscoring record when they travel to Cardiff.
I like the odds on Roberto Martinez’s side coming away with the victory here.
Betting Tip: Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals
I also like the look of goals here. It’s easy to look at Wales’ performances and think it may be a tight game but they’ve been through a roller coaster of emotions in the past week. Rob Page’s men have overcome Ukraine 1-0 in a tense affair that saw them book their place in the World Cup finals and then they nearly salvaged a point against the Netherlands, only to concede again in injury time.
Belgium are a bit of an unpredictable side, however, seven of their last eight matches have witnessed at least three goals being scored and seven of their last eight matches have also seen both times find the back of the net. With players like Kevin De Bruyne and Eden Hazard, they will be a constant threat going forward. However, their back three is opened up time and time again. Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld have struggled at times and if Wales can exploit that, they’ll have their fair share of chances.
I’m happy to have another point on both teams hitting the back of the net and the match witnessing at least three goals in total.
