Netherlands vs USA – Cody Gakpo anytime goalscorer

Louis van Gaal will look back on his team’s group-stage games as professional performances with the Dutch side topping their group and now face a hungry USA team looking to make history.

The USA has made the semi-finals of the World Cup but this was back in 1930 and Gregg Berhalter’s young team have shown no fear so far but face a World Cup expert in Louis Van Gaal, who knows how to get the best out of his players.

One man who has certainly taken to the international game and van Gaal management is Cody Gakpo with the 23-year-old who scored in all three of the Netherlands' group games and with Memphis Depay still looking rusty will be important that his goalscoring touch continues.

Van Gaal will know to get the ball to Gakpo as he will be the hot hand, so we fancy Gakpo to continue his goalscoring touch.

Argentina vs Australia – Argentina win + over 2.5 goals

After their surprise, 2-1 defeat to Saudi Arabia Argentina have steadied the ship. They topped their group with six points and face one of the surprise teams in the tournament in Australia.

Australia are not the most technically gifted teams in this tournament but they certainly have desire and heart but against the tournament favourites Argentina they face a different beast entirely.

Australia lost their opening game 4-1 against France and the gulf in quality was shown and Argentina have been slowly getting better and better as the tournament has gone on. Messi and co will know they have a fairly straightforward path to the semi-finals if they beat Australia and will relish this challenge.

We fancy Argentina to win comfortably, get past the over 2.5 goals mark and lay down a marker for other top teams in this tournament.
