Mateo Kovacic to Receive a Card

You can make a case for most of Argentina's players receiving a card against Croatia given the fiery nature of their quarter-final win over the Netherlands.

However, we're looking to their semi-final opposition for the first part of this card double given that no team has drawn more fouls than Argentina (92 free kicks).

Rodrigo De Paul to Receive a Card

Second up in this semi-final card double, it made sense to include someone from Argentina given the emotional performance they displayed against the Dutch.

Looking at the Croatia midfield, Marcelo Brozovic has drawn more fouls than any of his teammates (11), while only Luka Modric (12) and Brozovic (11) have made more than 10 fouls.

This suggests that an Argentina midfielder might be the best play for a card, with Rodrigo De Paul arguably the most combative in Scaloni’s midfield three.
