Exeter vs Middlesbrough – Middlesbrough

League One Exeter takes on Championship opposition in the EFL Cup when Middlesbrough travel to St James Park.

Exeter currently sit 17th in League One with Gary Caldwell’s men starting off the season bright, picking up 10 points from their first opening five league fixtures but the Grecians have struggled since, with their last win coming back on the 16th of September.

In contrast, Middlesbrough started the season very slowly but have managed to find the form that got them into the playoff’s last year, winning five of their last six Championship games. Carrick’s men are coming off a 2-0 away defeat to Stoke but will still be full of confidence for this one.

Exeter can take comfort in the fact that Middlesbrough do have a significant injury list with Forss, McGree, Lenihan, and Lewis O’Brien all side lined.

Despite the big injury list we still think Middlesbrough still have the squad to win this game comfortably and because of that back them to win this one.

Derby vs Northampton – Derby

League One strugglers Northampton take on playoff-chasing Derby for the second leg of our treble. Derby will be licking their wounds after a 3-1 defeat to Stevenage on Saturday but have the perfect opportunity to bounce back when Paul Warne’s men.

Derby currently sit five points away from sixth but do have two games in hand on many of their rivals and a win against Northampton could see them move two points of a playoff spot.

Northampton have struggled since their promotion from League Two to League One but the Cobblers do currently sit outside the relegation zone and like Derby have two games in hand to avoid the drop.

Jon Brady’s men last league win was back on the 3rd of October and have since only picked up one point from four games.

With Derby in the position to close the gap on the League One playoff and Northampton's form not the best we see a Derby win in this one.

Lincoln vs Oxford - Oxford

After picking up two points from their last three games, Oxford United will want to return to winning ways when they travel to the LNER Stadium for Tuesday's League One clash with Lincoln City.

Meanwhile, the Imps will be hoping to continue their promising spell of form after winning two and drawing one of their last three games.

Lincoln experienced a change in manager earlier this month after Tom Shaw was placed in caretaker charge following the dismissal of Mark Kennedy.

While the Imps face a tough test on Tuesday, their recent head-to-head record will give them reason to be confident, having won each of their last three meetings with Oxford.

The visitors, meanwhile, currently reside in the second automatic promotion spot after racking up 29 points from their 14 matches.

Impressively, the U's began the campaign with eight wins in their opening 10 league matches, but their momentum has shown signs of slowing in recent games.

Lincoln have lost just one of their six home league games this season, but we do think Oxford have a point to prove and will just edge this tight game.
