Bet Builder tips for Chelsea vs Manchester City on Super Sunday, brought to you by Jack Wright.
16:30 Sunday
The last Premier League game before the international break is a cracker. Fresh from their breath taking 4-1 defeat of Tottenham on Monday Chelsea host league leaders Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Sunday with a 4:30pm kick off.
This week’s Bet Builder can be backed at a best price of 9/2 on bet365. As always, make sure you compare Bet Builder prices as the variance can be high. I have seen this same Bet Builder priced as low as 3/1 with another bookmaker so never settle for less.
Chelsea vs Man City Bet Builder Tips
Man City to Win
We are keeping it simple for the first leg of the Bet Builder and predicting the Match Result. It is rare to get the chance to back Manchester City in the win market as their price is usually far too short – but we can here.
Last season’s treble winners suffered a dip in form when losing back-to-back league games immediately prior to the last international break. But have roared back to form winning all five games since the return to action. Three of which being in the Premier League to take them ominously back to the top of the table going into this weekend.
It’s no surprise to see the Cityzens leading the way when they also top many of the key metrics. With 28 they have scored the most goals from the most shots on target (78) and at the other end have also conceded the least (eight) having allowed the fewest shots (65). No side has completed more than their 7202 passes whilst also having the highest accuracy (90%) from the most possession (63.2%).
City have scored 11 goals across those last three league games conceding just twice.
Their last away game saw them beat their Manchester rivals 3-0 at Old Trafford and head to Stamford Bridge with a fantastic recent record against the Blues.
Pep Guardiola’s side won this corresponding fixture 1-0 last term in the first of three meetings between the two sides, all won by the Champions. In fact, they have now beaten Chelsea in each of the last six head-to-heads – incredibly without conceding a goal.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men have had an inconsistent start to the season but have been particularly poor at home. They have only picked up one league win at the Bridge and that success coming against relegation threatened Luton. Losing three of their last four and all without scoring.
Phil Foden to Score Anytime
The second leg for this Chelsea vs Man City bet builder is in the player to score market and we are avoiding the obvious selection! Instead, it is Phil Foden that gets our vote.
It nearly goes without saying Erling Haaland is his club’s top scorer but other than the Norwegian only Julian Alvarez has more than Foden’s three league goals. The same two players are the only teammates to have had more than the England internationals 21 shots and he ranks fourth for shots on target with seven.
The main reason for the selection is that Foden comes into this fixture in red hot form. He has scored in all his last three appearances for his club including in each of the last two Premier League games. He will also take confidence having seen fellow wide right attacker Dejan Kulusevski exploit the space to score against Chelsea on Monday night and that he himself scored against the Blues in the 4-0 FA Cup win at the start of the year.
