12:30 Saturday

Saturday’s early kick-off sees Newcastle host Tottenham. The home side have the chance to move above Manchester United with a win and they will be keen to make amends for their 4-1 defeat at Spurs earlier in the season.

Goals have been in no short supply in Eddie Howe’s side’s recent matches. Ange Postecoglou enjoys playing on the front foot so it seems as though we have the perfect recipe for an entertaining match here.

Fingers crossed we are served up another football treat to aid our bet builder tip, which can be added to your betslip at 5/1 Paddy Power.

Both Teams To Score

Newcastle matches have seen plenty of goals this season. They have played 31 games in the Premier League which have seen an average of 3.77 goals.

That’s 0.16 more goals per game than Sheffield United matches, which have seen the second most goals in England’s top flight. This average increases to 4.57 goals in their 11 league games in 2024. Both teams have scored on nine of those.

Tottenham games have also seen plenty of goals. Ange Postecoglou has been keen to do away with the defensive approach adopted by previous managers. As a result, Spurs’ matches have seen the 5th most goals in the Premier League.

Both teams have scored in the last eight head-to-heads between Tottenham and Newcastle. Those matches are averaging 4.5 goals so expect a glut of goals here.

Alexander Isak To Score

Alexander Isak has played as a striker and out wide for Newcastle this season but he is thriving in that number nine role of late. The Swedish international has found the net in his last three matches at St. James’ Park.

Isak is averaging a goal every 111 minutes played in the Premier League. He has netted 15 times in 23 appearances and has the physical attributes to exploit Tottenham’s high defensive line.

The forward is averaging 0.48 non-penalty xG per 90 minutes played. He also takes penalties, so he has an increase chance of finishing the net.

Away Goalkeeper To Make 3 Saves

Newcastle are forcing an average of 3.13 saves from the opposition keeper per Premier League game this season but this rises to 3.75 in front of their own fans.

This bet has won in eight of their last 10 games at St. James' Park in the Premier League. Expect Eddie Howe’s side to let fly as they seek revenge here.

Tottenham beat Nottingham Forest 3–1 in their last game but Vicario made five saves in that one. I expect the Italian goalkeeper to be busy once again.

Over 4.5 Corners For Tottenham

Newcastle won nine corners in this fixture last season and had six when they travelled to Spurs earlier in this campaign. They are averaging 5.4 corners per home game this season but should manage more against a side that are conceding plenty.

Tottenham are conceding an average of 7.53 corners per away game in the league this season. Their opponents have managed five or more corners in 13 of those 15 matches.
