Leeds United will be desperately looking to get their promotion push back on track when they meet Middlesbrough in the English Championship at the Riverside Stadium on Monday night.

The Whites’ form has taken a major nosedive at the pressure-filled business end of the season, with Daniel Farke’s side winning just one of their last five matches to leave their automatic promotion hopes hanging by a thread.

That being said, Leeds could leapfrog fellow promotion rivals Ipswich and move back into the top two if they can pick up all three points at Middlesbrough on Monday night.

However, in-form Boro still have plenty to play for as they will be bidding to keep their faint hopes of a Championship playoff position alive.

Michael Carrick’s men are enjoying a strong end to the season and head into their penultimate home game of the campaign in the midst of a nine-match unbeaten run.

Leeds are limping towards the campaign's finish line and they are unlikely to get much in the way of respite when they head to the Riverside to take on in-form Middlesbrough on Monday night.

Whilst Middlesbrough’s chances of reaching the Championship playoffs appear to be slim, they have hit a rich vein of form of late, with their last defeat coming against Stoke way back at the beginning of March.

Since then, Boro have banked five wins and four draws from their subsequent nine outings, picking up a pair of noteworthy points away from home against promotion contenders Southampton and Ipswich in the process.

As such, Michael Carrick’s hosts will come into this game brimming with confidence and they are more than capable of adding to the woes of a Leeds side who are wilting badly in the fight for promotion.
