Celtic will attempt to do the impossible when they welcome European giants Bayern Munich to Glasgow in the Champions League tonight.

Celtic vs Bayern Munich Prediction

  • After finishing 21st and 12th respectively in the UEFA Champions League league phase, Celtic host Bayern Munich here in the first leg of their play-off tie.
  • Brendan Rodgers' side picked up three wins and three draws during the league phase, and head into this one following three straight wins and 14 goals scored across those matches.
  • Visitors Bayern also arrive in winning form, having claimed victory in their last four outings, most recently against Werder Bremen on Friday night.
  • Vincent Kompany's side have opened up an eight-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga, and will now be hoping to replicate their strong domestic form in Europe.
  • These two sides last met in this competition back in 2017, in Group B, where Bayern were victorious both home and away.
  • Expect the away side to take an advantage into the second leg here.

Score Prediction: Celtic 1-2 Bayern Munich

Celtic vs Bayern Munich Bet Builder Tips

Our Bet Builder for Celtic vs Bayern Munich is Both Team to Score, Kane Over 2.5 Shots on Target and Engels Over 1.5 Fouls.

At the time of publishing this is a best price of 12/1 with BetMGM.

Celtic have scored in all but two Champions League games (one of those being against Atalanta who are one of the best defensive sides in the competition).

They have scored against the likes of Dortmund, Aston Villa and RB Leipzig and have shown that are not not afraid to throw men forward if needs be.

They know a result at home is needed if they want to have a chance of winning this tiem, so, I expect them to really push for a goal in this game.

Harry Kane has 28 goals this season and is averaging 1.78 shots on target per game and this goes up to 2.11 in the Champions League.

Celtic are conceding an average of 13.5 shots per game and allowed Ollie Watkins to hit three on target when they faced Aston Villa in their last game.

Engels averages 1.59 fouls per 90 in the League and Champions League and has over 1.5 fouls in three of his last five appearances in the league. He also committed three fouls against Aston Villa.

Up against Kimmich, Musiala and Pavlovic and Sane you can expect Engels to be busy and to hit his foul average at the very least.
