The appointment of Tonda Eckert as permanent manager was a classic case of falling for the ‘new manager bounce.’ The 32-year-old took 12 points from a possible 15 in interim charge, but has since taken just nine in eight since, failing to win any of the last six. Under his tenure, Southampton have conceded in 12/14 and scored in 12/14, so goals at both are expected.
Hull have surprised many with their performances in the Championship thus far, sat just outside the playoffs in 7th. The Tigers games have been chaotic, with 78 goals in 25 matches. BTTS has landed in 9/12 away games for Hull and the last three meetings between the sides.
Wrexham vs Norwich

After three historic promotions on the bounce, Wrexham are chasing promotion to the Premier League. Phil Parkinson’s side are now just one point outside the top six after four league wins on the bounce,, scoring 11 goals in the process. Of their last nine games, BTTS has landed in seven, including 10/13 at the Racecourse.
Norwich have disappointed this season, leading to the dismissal of Liam Manning after just 17 games and three wins. Things have picked up under Phillipe Clement, but the Canaries are still sat in the bottom three, despite playing more games than their competition. In Clement’s 12 games, his side have have won five, with BTTS clicking in 9/12. When the sides met at Carrow Road earlier in the season, the Red Dragons ran out 2-3 winners.

Barnsley vs Blackpool

Despite losing 4-1 to Liverpool in midweek, Barnsley will be full of confidence after an admirable display. The Tykes have won just one of their last seven games and are in real danger of relegation. Conor Hourihane is 41 games into his managerial tenure but has over seen just two clean sheets, conceding two or more in over 60% of these fixtures. They’ve also netted in 80% of these, so there should be action aplenty in both boxes.
A poor start to the season saw Steve Bruce dismissed as Blackpool manager, with Ian Evatt hired as his replacement. While only 4/11 Blackpool away games in the league have seen BTTS, goals have picked up under new manager, scoring in 15/17 under Evatt.
Leyton Orient vs Reading

Leyton Orient’s promotion dream was dashed at Wembley, losing to London rivals Charlton in the playoff final. Their squad was ransacked with a lot of loanees returning to their parent club, leaving Richie Wellens with a tough re build job. The O’s are currently 18th in the league after winning just one of their last nine league games. With 36 goals scored and 42 conceded in 25 games, their games are averaging 3.12 goals, with BTTS landing in 9/13 home games and the reverse fixture (2-1).
13 points from a possible 15 has put Reading firmly back in playoff contention and Leam Richardson will be looking to build on that momentum against an out-of-sorts Orient. In the 11 games under Richardson, The Royals have scored in ten, with BTTS clicking in six. Reading have seen BTTS in a league high 8/11 away games.
Crewe vs Barrow

Due to the chaotic nature of League Two, Crewe somehow find themselves in tenth and just four points off the playoffs. Lee Bell’s team have been inconsistent and will be frustrated with recent home draws to struggling Harrogate Town, Bristol Rovers and Newport County. BTTS has landed in the last games for the Railwaymen.
Barrow have already parted ways with Andy Whing this season, with the 1-2 loss to Salford on New Years Day the straw that broke the camels back. The Bluebirds are yet to play under new manager Paul Gallagher who has had two weeks to work with his new squad. Barrow have seen BTTS in the last six away games.
