The MLS is in full swing and we have picked out our best three picks for you to bet on overnight.
Colorado Rapids v Orlando City – Sunday 21:00, Sky Sports Mix
After a disappointing opening few matches, Orlando have since got down to business with four victories on the bounce as they’ve been excellent going forward, netting an average of three goals per game across this winning run. That’s largely down to the introduction of new signing Dom Dwyer, who has five goals across those games having missed their first three matches through injury. Colorado have two clean sheets from their three home games to date, but these came against the bottom two sides in the Eastern Conference – the lowest scorers so far this term in the entire MLS. Given both of Colorado’s victories this season have come over poor teams, we’d have Orlando at a shorter price and the visitors are worth a bet on the double chance.
New York City v Dallas – Sunday 23:30, Sky Sports
New York City suffered their first defeat of the campaign as they went down 3-0 at Portland, with the Timbers showing the rest of the league a tactical blueprint of how it’s done. They struck swiftly on the counter, though that’s not something that’ll play into Dallas’ hands as the visitors generally prefer a more possession-based game. Dallas have benefited this season from playing five of their opening six games on home turf, but though they remain unbeaten they’re yet to be truly tested as they’re yet to face anyone higher than 7th in a combined table of the Eastern and Western conferences. Patrick Vieira’s men have won their three home games by an aggregate score of 8-1, and having netted at least twice in seven of their eight home or away this term, should have too much for a Dallas side that has netted exactly once in four of their six games to date.
Los Angeles FC v Seattle Sounders – Monday 02:00
Los Angeles have made an impressive start to their maiden MLS campaign as they’ve won four of their six outings so far, while they’ve been thoroughly entertaining to watch with four of their last five seeing at least five goals, including an eight-goal thriller as they ran out 5-3 winners over Montreal last time. More impressively, each of their fixtures have come on the road, and for their first appearance at the Banc of California Stadium they’ll host a Seattle side that don’t travel well. Indeed, the visitors are W3-D7-L9 on the road since the start of last season, with seven of those defeats seeing at least three strikes, and given the gung-ho nature of the hosts we wouldn’t put anyone off b>Los Angeles/Over 2.5 Goals. However, since Seattle’s last two matches both saw four strikes each, while LA’s last five have averaged 5.6 goals per game, the standout selection is Over 3.5 Goals.
