Lugano v Basel - Swiss Super League - 15:00

Basel are in cracking form in the Swiss Super League, and they’re my first pick for this European five-fold.

The 20-time Swiss champions have won six of their last seven league matches – including their last three away from home – lying 17 points above Sunday’s hosts Lugano.

Two home points from their last five matches won’t fill Lugano fans with much hope, and you suspect Basel will just be too strong on the day.

Basel - 1pt @ 4/5

Austria Vienna v Altach - Austrian Bundesliga - 16:00

Hopping over to Austria, I’m backing Austria Vienna - who sit third in the Bundesliga – to beat bottom side Altach.

The guests have lost five of their last seven matches, which is starting to see them cut adrift at the bottom of the pack.

Will they get anything in Vienna, against a side who have comfortably won their last three home games?

Nope.

Austria Vienna - 1pt @ 39/50

Lamia v Giannina - Greek Super League - 17:00

So here’s some serious value: in the Greek Super League, I’m backing mid-table Lamia to beat relegation-battling PAS Giannina – at 23/20.

It’s 23/20 despite PAS losing 10 of their 11 away games and Lamia winning four of their last five home games. That price really is a head-scratcher, but I won’t complain!

This pick is a great value booster.

Lamia - 1pt @ 23/20

Valladolid v Real Madrid - La Liga - 19:45

They might have disgraced themselves in the Champions League, but I’m still backing Real Madrid to bounce back and beat Real Valladolid in La Liga on Sunday.

The hosts are sitting precariously above the relegation zone, and four home defeats in their last six suggests they aren’t pulling away from danger in a hurry.

Real, for all their obvious shortcomings, have still won their last four away games, and should still have enough to navigate past this poor Valladolid side.

Real Madrid - 1pt @ 4/6

Feirense v Porto - Portuguese Primeira Liga - 20:00

My final pick shouldn’t create too many problems: Porto to beat Primeira Liga basement boys Feirense.

Porto played a gruelling 120-minute Champions League second-leg tie against Roma on Wednesday, but I don’t expect that to be a huge factor – considering Feirense are winless since August and without a single point in six matches.

This should be as routine as they come.
