There's massive value with this monstrous 20/1 five-fold!
Swansea v Stoke - Championship
I’ll kick off Saturday’s proceedings with the best bit of value you’ll find this weekend: Swansea to beat Stoke at home, priced at 21/20.
It seems the beleaguered Nathan Jones will remain in charge of this one, despite his Stoke side sitting rock bottom of the table with just two points, and I simply cannot see any possible reason why the hosts are 21/20.
Swansea are top of the league, and playing some really impressive football under Steve Cooper; the levels of confidence and quality between these two sides are light-years apart, so you should have absolutely no hesitation in backing Stoke to fall to yet another defeat on Saturday.
Preston v Barnsley - Championship
This is another selection which also seems a tad long: Preston beating Barnsley at Deepdale.
Alex Neil’s men have the best home record in the division (W4, D1), while Barnsley have earned just three points since the opening day of the season – while they’ve not mustered a single goal on the road.
I’ve been a little surprised at just how much the Tykes have struggled this term—particularly after beating Fulham on the opening day—but this should play nicely into Preston’s hands.
Sheffield Wednesday v Wigan - Championship
My third and final pick in the Championship is Sheffield Wednesday to overcome Wigan at Hillsborough.
The Owls have been a little inconsistent of late, but that shouldn’t matter against a Wigan side who are wretched travellers.
Since the start of last season, the Latics have lost a whopping 20 of their 28 away matches (with only two victories), and I’m confident Wednesday will cash in.
The hosts have won their last three home games against Wigan, so three points on Saturday will be a necessity.
Newport County v Carlisle - League Two
I’m skipping over League One this week, and instead going straight into League Two to back Newport against Carlisle.
Michael Flynn has made Rodney Parade a fiendishly tough place to go, and the Exiles are unsurprisingly unbeaten at home – keeping three clean sheets in five, despite a string of excellent sides visiting.
Their latest outing ended in a brilliant 2-0 win at Swindon, and they’ll fancy their chances against mid-table Carlisle, who have lost three of their five on the road.
Plymouth v Scunthorpe - League Two
Plymouth are going through a slightly sticky patch after a good start to the season, but a win at Mansfield last weekend got them back on track. However, their quality is pretty undeniable, and 10/11 for them to beat Scunthorpe shouldn’t be sniffed at.
Paul Hurst’s side are abysmal travellers: losing all five of their matches, conceding 11 in total and failing to score in their last three, despite fairly average opposition.
Plymouth’s recent form is why this isn’t a much shorter price, so it’s well worth sticking in.
