Wednesday's four-fold shoots at 8/1!
Real Sociedad v Levante - La Liga - 18:00
I’m backing Real Sociedad to beat Levante relatively comfortably.
The Basque outfit will be delighted with their work so far this season, and deservedly sit just one point off the summit of La Liga.
With three wins from their first four home games coming into this (the one defeat coming against Getafe after being reduced to 10 men), they’ll fancy beating a Levante side who have avoided defeat in just one of their five on the road.
Liverpool v Arsenal - League Cup - 19:30
The League Cup is always a little awkward to bet on, primarily because of wholesale changes in personnel every manager implements, but I still think Liverpool are a handy price to beat Arsenal at Anfield.
As I’ve mentioned before, the Reds simply do not lose at home, and their record against Arsenal is too good to ignore. Jurgen Klopp and Unai Emery will both name relatively unfamiliar starting XIs, but at the end of the day, Liverpool have won their last four home games against the Gunners, and have scored at least three goals in each of their last five at Anfield against the Londoners.
It’ll still be a fantastic atmosphere on Wednesday, and with Arsenal poor away from home at the best of times, a home win is the only outcome I envisage.
Juventus v Genoa - Serie A - 20:00
Next up, I expect Juventus to beat Genoa at home with a -1 handicap.
In all honesty, I’ve not been particularly impressed with Juve thus far under Maurizio Sarri, and while just one of their victories in Serie A have come by a margin of more than a single goal, this fixture presents a great prospect for another.
Genoa, just a single point above the drop zone, have only a single point from their four away games, and the three defeats have all come by a margin of two goals or more.
Juve should dispatch them comfortably.
Famalicao v Gil Vicente - Primeira Liga - 21:00
Finally, in Portugal, I have newly-promoted Famalicao overcoming Gil Vicente.
It’s been nothing short of a fairytale so far for the hosts: earning a whopping 19 points from their eight matches – and until last weekend, where they lost at Porto, Famalicao were unbeaten and top of the league.
Despite losing at Estádio do Dragão, Famalicao will still back themselves to bounce back and continue their 100% home record against opponents who have lost all three of their away games without scoring a single goal.
