Blackpool v AFC Wimbledon - League One

While the international break has knocked the top two English leagues out of action, we still have plenty of League One and Two football to get stuck into.

First up, I have Blackpool beating AFC Wimbledon in League One.

The hosts have been inconsistent this season, but come into this following a brilliant 4-3 victory against a strong Peterborough side, and now sit 8th in the league.

It’s been a much tougher slog for the Wombles, who have lost seven of their eight away league matches – only beating an absolutely dreadful Southend side.

Wimbledon’s poor form on their travels is set to continue.

Bolton v MK Dons - League One

Bolton Wanderers, battling back from a points deduction and huge squad upheaval, are finally starting to look like a competitive League One side under Keith Hill.

The Trotters have now won two consecutive matches in the league—including a terrific 2-1 triumph against high-flying Fleetwood—and they’re a decent price to make it three from three versus an MK Dons outfit in freefall.

The visitors have lost 11 of their last 13 matches in all competitions, and new boss Russell Martin has a huge job on his hands to turn the ship around.

Bolton have the momentum, while MK Dons are totally rudderless, which is why my money is on the home side.

Bolton - 1pt @ 13/8

Coventry v Rochdale - League One

Despite playing their games at St. Andrew’s, Coventry have the second-best ‘home’ record in the league, and I expect them to beat out-of-form Rochdale.

Dale have lost their last three league matches (and six of their last nine) – and just as encouragingly, they’ve conceded 15 in their last five away outings.

City are unbeaten in six games, and with six wins from their nine at St. Andrew’s, I’m confident they get the job done.

Coventry - 1pt @ 7/10

Port Vale v Carlisle - League Two

Finally, one selection in League Two: Port Vale to beat Carlisle.

The Cumbrians, fresh from sacking Steven Pressley, have tasted defeat in four of their last six matches, and just one point from their previous four away games isn’t exactly sparking, either.

Vale have lost just one of their last 11 games in all competitions, and they’re yet to lose once at Vale Park this season.

The value is with Vale against struggling Carlisle.
