The penultimate international acca of 2019 shoots at 4/1!
Greece v Finland - 19:45
Barring Ireland v Denmark, the football on Monday is pretty pants. However, the show goes on, and I start this Monday treble with Greece to beat Finland.
The Greeks have been poor during qualifying, but back-to-back victories coming into this against Bosnia and Armenia does show they still have something about them.
However, the main reason why I like the Greeks at evens is that Finland qualified for the Euro finals, their very first, just the other day, and this hangover (both metaphorical and literal) will surely play a part in this dead-rubber.
Greece’s momentum has come too late, and while Finland have also won consecutive games, their recent qualification will play a part in their demise on Monday.
Republic of Ireland v Denmark - 19:45
Ireland v Denmark is titanic—with the winner securing Euro 2020 qualification—and under 2.5 goals looks a great bet.
Under 2.5 goals have been scored in every single one of Ireland’s qualifiers (including both fixtures against Gibraltar), and with the added jeopardy of any mistake being so severely punished in this game, few risks will likely be taken until the dying embers.
There have also been a grand total of two goals scored in the last three games between Ireland and Denmark, so this is certainly a solid-looking bet.
Sweden v Faroe Islands - 19:45
While I expect Finland’s recent success to hamper their progress against Greece, I envisage no-such issues for another side who have just qualified, Sweden, against a dreadful Faroe Islands outfit.
The visitors have lost eight of their nine matches—scoring four and conceding 27—which is why I’m backing Sweden to win with a -2 handicap.
The Swedes won this fixture 4-0 back in September, and a similarly conclusive victory is surely the only outcome.
