The Premier League finally returns! Back Saturday's 3PM acca at 6/1.
Brighton v Leicester
Leicester City are absolutely flying at the moment, and while they’ll be very keen to continue their charge deep into the Premier League’s top four, Brendan Rodgers will be wary of a Brighton side who have won three consecutive home games at the Amex.
The Foxes are still rightfully favourites, but Albion have only failed to score once at home in all competitions (against Southampton when they had a man sent off after 30 minutes), while Rodgers’ side have conceded in four of their six on the road – though they have registered shut-outs in their last two.
Despite Maty Ryan and Kasper Schmeichel keeping nine clean sheets between them, both teams to score does look a good bet here. Albion at home are strong, and will certainly create chances, but Leicester are simply imperious these days, and I can’t see them firing a blank either.
Arsenal v Southampton
At 9/5, I’m also throwing in Arsenal to beat Southampton and both teams to score.
For all the hysteria amongst Gunners fans, they’ve still not lost a single game at home this season—winning five of their last seven—and while they’re not top four material, they should still beat a woeful Southampton side.
However, I’ve thrown in the BTTS aspect due to the Saints’ increased proficiency on the road compared to at St. Mary’s.
Southampton have scored in every single away game since the opening day—including trips to Spurs and Manchester City—so they’re clearly more suited to playing without the ball, and while they don’t have nearly enough quality to beat Arsenal, there’s a very good chance they can at least find the net against a side who have kept just two clean sheets – as many as the Saints!
Crystal Palace v Liverpool
Finally, I’ve got Liverpool beating Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park – as they’re still a fairly backable price in my opinion.
Jurgen Klopp’s men are a juggernaut who look nigh-unstoppable right now, and despite the Eagles often causing the big boys problems, this isn’t an occasion which in I can see the Reds slipping-up.
Liverpool have won their last five matches against Palace—as well as their last five at Selhurst—and considering they, right now, are probably the best football team on the planet, you’d be brave to bet against the same outcome this time.
Roy Hodgson’s men have just a single point from their last four Premier League games, and things aren’t going to get any easier on Saturday.
