Tuesday's Champions League treble shoots at 7/1!
Spurs v Olympiakos
Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham tenure got off to a winning start against West Ham on Saturday, and I’m expecting his side to register a convincing victory over Olympiakos in the Champions League – with a -1 handicap.
The hosts have registered heavy back-to-back victories over Red Star in the competition, while the visitors’ two away games against Red Star and Bayern have both been lost by a couple of goals.
The 3-2 win against West Ham flattered the Hammers, and a victory by at least two goals on Tuesday looks a likely outcome.
Man City v Shakhtar Donetsk
Along a similar vein, I’m backing Manchester City to beat Shakhtar Donetsk with a -2 handicap.
City have already demolished Shakhtar and Atalanta in the competition this season, and Pep Guardiola will be expecting ruthlessness in this one, too.
We all know about the sheer weight of goals City are capable of unleashing, and I have a feeling, a little like their 6-0 victory in this same fixture last season, they’ll secure a big win.
Juventus v Atletico Madrid
Finally, I believe Juventus will beat Atletico Madrid at home.
Atleti have been a little out-of-sorts of late, winning just one of their last five matches - failing to keep a clean sheet in any. Furthermore, they’ve drawn their last four away games in La Liga, and this slightly ropey form will be exploited by a Juve side who have won every single home game this season.
If the visitors perform like they did against Bayer Leverkusen—where they lost 2-1—then a Juve win is the value pick.
