Sunday's FA Cup treble is priced at 5/1!
Crewe v Barnsley - 14:01
Kicking-off Sunday’s treble, I’m backing both teams to score as Crewe face Barnsley.
The Railwaymen are the top scorers in League Two, and despite the two-division gap between the sides, the sheer weight of goals amongst their ranks should see them find the net against a Barnsley side which will be much-changed.
Gerhard Struber is certainly turning The Tykes’ fortunes around, which is why they’re suddenly a very handy prospect to score, but this trip to Gresty Road, where the Alex faithful will be fired up, is a very tough assignment.
Crewe will fancy a result, but in terms of betting BTTS is the way to go.
Middlesbrough v Tottenham - 14:01
Next, I have a Middlesbrough win/draw double chance as they welcome Spurs to the Riverside.
Spurs have been chronically inconsistent all season, regardless of their manager, and this is suddenly looking a very awkward time to face Boro.
Jonathan Woodgate’s men have won four straight league matches (with three clean sheets), and with just two defeats at home since August 10, they’ll see no reason why this Spurs side—with three victories from their last eight—can’t be got at.
Mourinho will be desperate to win a trophy with his new club, but this is far from an easy fixture, and considering Colchester dumped the Londoners out of the EFL Cup, a home win or draw at odds-against is worth the nibble.
Liverpool v Everton - 16:01
Finally, I’m backing both teams to score as Liverpool face Everton at Anfield.
I’ve gone on record many times saying this is one of the dullest Derbies out there (the 5-2 mauling back in December aside), although the cup aspect of this tie, and the much-changed Liverpool side I’m expecting, should see it being a more open affair.
Jurgen Klopp has a great squad, and with the Premier League trophy within touching distance, I’d be amazed if he didn’t heavily rotate.
I’d be more surprised if Carlo Ancelotti doesn’t play a very strong side. The Toffees aren’t getting relegated, and a Derby victory at Anfield would be an unbelievable way for him to endear himself to the fans.
Either way, BTTS seems likely, especially because it’s landed in four of the last five games between these two at Anfield.
