Tranmere v Watford - FA Cup - 19:45

* MATCH POSTPONED *

Tuesday’s domestic extravaganza begins in Merseyside, where I’m backing Tranmere to lose to Watford in their FA Cup replay.

Watford blew a 3-0 lead in their first meeting with Tranmere, but I expect them to make no mistake this time around. Nigel Pearson has worked wonders at the club—winning four and drawing one of their last five in the league—and while Tranmere’s comeback was pretty incredible, The Hornets’ quality will shine through at Prenton Park, and you can be sure Pearson will be keen to continue their momentum on all fronts.

Tranmere are winless in their last six matches in all competitions, and considering how much momentum Watford have right now, I’d have thought they would be shorter than 17/25.

Watford - 1pt @ 17/25

Lincoln v Bolton - League One - 19:45

Into League One, and I expect Lincoln to beat Bolton at home.

While there’s no doubt Bolton have improved a lot under Keith Hill, a run of just one win in eight has seen them lose the momentum gained from three straight victories in October and November. Furthermore, eight defeats from their 10 away games—failing to score in their last three—suggest they aren’t the most accomplished of travellers.

The Imps are still feeling the departure of the Cowley brothers, but Michael Appleton is slowly getting his feet under the table, and his side have now taken 13 points from their last 15 available at Sincil Bank – beating Sunderland, Ipswich and Peterborough during this run.

I fancy Appleton’s men to continue their impressive home form.

Lincoln - 1pt @ 4/7

Stevenage v Oldham - League Two - 19:45

Finally, in a huge game at the foot of League Two, I’m backing Oldham to win or draw as they travel to bottom side Stevenage.

Both sides have been desperately poor this campaign, but I’m certainly more hopeful of Oldham avoiding defeat than I am of Stevenage claiming maximum points.

The hosts have won just two league matches all season, and have scored a paltry three goals in their last 10 outings – which is precisely why they’re bottom.

Oldham, managed by former Boro boss Dino Maamria, have only lost four of their last 11 on the road, with only Swindon and Cheltenham besting the Latics on their travels since mid-October.

The hosts’ chronic inability to score will be their undoing once again.
